Gilad Garon, CEO

Gilad co-founded ASOCS in 2003 and has been spearheading the company as Chief Executive Officer ever since. Bringing with him extensive knowledge in the mobile telecommunications market, he holds over 20 years of hands-on experience in international sales, marketing and product management. Driven by his passion for disruptive technologies and the re-definition of existing markets, Gilad steered ASOCS towards its focus on the virtualization of Radio Access Networks. Previously, Gilad served as Director of Product Marketing at OTM Technologies and Senior Product Manager at Wizcom Technologies.

Gilad holds an M.B.A. in Marketing and Information Systems and a B.A. in Economics & Business, both from Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

 

Doron Solomon, DMTS

Doron co-founded ASOCS in 2003 as CTO and was later awarded the role of DMTS (Distinguished Member of Technical Staff). With more than 20 years of experience developing algorithms for wireless communications, he has a natural intrinsic curiosity and passion for finding ways to hit the Shannon limits of information theory. Heavily involved in communication research and design since 1988, Doron previously served as a leading Algorithm Engineer & Chip Solution Designer at Tadiran SpectraLink and Innowave. Doron served as a Major in the Israeli Air Force as was accredited and awarded for his contributions.

Doron holds an M.Sc. in Physics and a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics, both from Bar Ilan University.  

 

Eran Bello, CMO

Eran brings extensive knowledge in Telecom and IT technologies, with over 15 years’ experience in products, marketing and business. A competitive sports lover and basketball fan, Eran is known for being a serial ‘mover and shaker’ and knowledge-hub of all things NFV. Prior to joining ASOCS, Eran led Mellanox’s strategy, business and solutions to the Telecom and Security markets via the NFV transformation. Before that, Eran worked in executive positions in companies including Anobit (acquired by Apple), Runcom, Microsemi (MSCC) and PowerDsine (PDSN). He also served five years in Israel's Elite Intelligence Technology Unit.

 

Tomer Assis, CFO

Tomer brings with him over 15 years of extensive international business, financial and operating management experience in the high tech field from leading international public and private companies. A basketball enthusiast with sharp instincts and lover of all things startup, Tomer’s two passions are forever intertwined. Before joining ASOCS, he served as CFO at NYGI Inc. (OTC: INK), CFO of Rosetta Genomics Ltd. (NASDAQ: ROSG), CFO at BackWeb Technologies Ltd. (OTC Pink: BWEBF), and before that, Director of Finance at CellNet Solutions Ltd.  Prior to that, Tomer was International Controller for Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP) and Controller for M+W Zander Group’s Israeli subsidiaries. He also worked at Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton, Israel.

A Certified Public Accountant in Israel, Tomer holds a B.B. in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance from The College of Management in Israel and is a graduate of the Program for Directors & Executives in corporations, Tel Aviv University. 

Gaby Guri, VP Research & Development

Gaby brings with him over 30 years of experience in the research and development of wireless technologies. An avid follower of developing trends, Gaby enjoys getting into new technological fields and turning conceptual research into tangible, innovative products for brand new markets. Prior to joining ASOCS, Gaby led the development of battery-assisted RFID at Power Paper, developed complex architectural systems for next-gen wireless LAN chipsets at Metalink, served as VP R&D at Envara and TelesciCOM and began his technology career in companies including Innovwave and Tadiran Communications.

Gaby holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University.

 

Reli Stiller, VP Human Resources

Reli brings with her years of executive level human resources experience. Responsible for the full cycle of HR services at ASOCS from defining, sourcing, recruiting, onboarding and training new employees, to HR budgeting and ongoing employee care, Reli is an instrumental part of ASOCS day-to-day life. Previously, Reli was VP HR at Leverate, and before that, owner at HRoD (a boutique HR firm), Unit Manager for Logistics & Biotech at Manpower Professional, HR Manager at db@net, and Head of HR at Card Guard Scientific Survival Ltd. A lover of aesthetics, culture and fine art, Reli is passionate about building, changing and optimizing infrastructures, technologies and processes in order to increase value.

Reli holds an M.S.M. from Polytechnic University and a B.Sc. in Biology from Ben-Gurion University.

 

Gerry Frigon, Board Member

Gerry Frigon is the Founder of Taylor Frigon Capital Management and also serves as Managing Member of Taylor Frigon Capital Advisors, General Partner to Taylor Frigon Capital Partners, LP, a private investment fund which invests in private and small emerging public companies. He has over twenty-five years of experience in investment strategy, planning and portfolio management for private investors and institutions. As Chief Investment Officer at Taylor Frigon Capital Management he continues the legacy of disciplined portfolio management directly descended from the classic growth philosophy developed by Richard C. Taylor and T. Rowe Price. Gerry received his bachelor of arts in business and economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1985.

 

Tom Rocca, Board Member

Thomas Rocca has developed, owned and managed real estate since 1978.  Since 1988 he has been a principal at Pinnacle Properties, Inc., developing and managing assets for over 300,000 square feet of residential, industrial, and retail space.  Since 1992 he has been a Principal at KGR Capital, AMB Properties II, LP, and Seven Hills Properties LLC, developing, owning and managing assets for over 800,000 square feet of residential, industrial, and retail space.   He is also a principal of Cinnabar Commons, LP.  Mr. Rocca currently is the Managing Member for several Real Estate Development Projects in the Pacific Northwest and he is an active Technology Investor.

Bert Fornaciari, Board Member

Bert Fornaciari is currently an angel and real estate investor.  In ’95 he was founder and C.E.O. of Web21 publisher of 100hot an internet directory that ranked the most popular websites.  In the early 90’s he was VP General Manager of Silicon Graphics Customer Support Division. Previously at SGI Bert was VP of Manufacturing for the Personal Iris and Indigo product lines.  Earlier Bert lead production for Convergent Technologies MegaFrame and Unix workstations. Bert has numerous years of experience in ramping up manufacturing, quality, and customer service. Bert received he Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University in 1979.

 

George Gilder, Chairman, Advisory Board

Mr. Gilder is Senior Founding Member of Gilder Mobile Internet Fund and the Managing Member of Gilder Cremers Fund. A Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute where he directs Discovery’s program on high technology and public policy, he is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Gilder Technology Report (published by Forbes Inc., 1996–2007). Born in 1939 in New York City, Mr. Gilder attended Exeter Academy and Harvard University. His 1981 bestseller Wealth and Poverty advanced a practical and moral case for capitalism during the early months of the Reagan Administration. In 1986, President Reagan gave George Gilder the White House Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence. Four years later, Mr. Gilder published Microcosm, his acclaimed history and prophecy of microchips. His latest book, the influential Israel Test, last year introduced Gilad Garon and ASOCS to Gilder’s readers. He is also a contributing writer at Wired and Forbes and a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal.

Prof. Simon Litsyn, Fellow, Advisory Board

Prof. Simon Litsyn brings more than 30 years of experience in research of theoretical and practical aspects of communication and computing systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Leningrad Electro-technical Institute in 1982. Since 1991 he is with the Department of Electrical Engineering - Systems at the Tel Aviv University, where he currently serves as a Full Professor. Prof. Litsyn authored more than 100 papers published in leading profile journals, one monograph and edited three books. Since 2000 he has served as an Associate Editor for Coding Theory of IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. Prof. Litsyn is an inventor of the "X4" technology for increasing density of flash memory and was awarded "Innovation of the Year" in 2006. Along with academic achievements, Prof. Litsyn has a proven record in consulting on leading projects in high-tech companies including Bell-Labs, Lucent Technologies, in Murray Hill, NJ, and Shannon Labs in Florham Park, NJ. In Israel, he served as a consultant and project lead in various fields and in numerous companies including, wireline communications (Metalink, Actelis, Mysticom, Tiaris), wireless communications (ComSys, Infineon, Ceragon, ElIsra, Nexus), optical communications (Optix Networks, ECI), and computing and storage (M-Systems, Analog Devices, ImageID, Zoran).
